One of the candidates for a spot on the Brea Olinda Unified School District board has been granted a recount after her opponent won the Nov. 3 election by a single vote.

Gail Lyons, the incumbent for Trustee Area 5, received 1,804 total votes in the election, or 49.99 percent, while her opponent, newcomer Lauren Barnes, received 1,805 votes, or 50.01 percent.
