Open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act Marketplace opened Nov. 1, beginning an 11-week period when people can purchase health coverage through the program, also known as Obamacare.

People with a household income at or below a certain level may qualify for reduced premiums thanks to a subsidy from the federal government in the form of a tax credit.
