The NYPD has increased security around sensitive areas in New York City after a lone-wolf gunman shot and killed at least 58 people at a country music festival in Las Vegas.

NYPD chief Commissioner James O’Neill said at an annual Domestic Violence Awareness Conference on Monday, Oct. 2, that they were monitoring the situation in Las Vegas and that they had “deployed personnel to strategic locations out of an abundance of caution.”
