North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed two bills on April 12 that prevent biological males from being on female sports teams in public K–12 schools and colleges and from competing with public schools and universities.

The new laws, HB 1249 (pdf) for schools and HB 1489 (pdf) for colleges, also allow civil lawsuits within two years from when the harm occurred.
