New SNAP Work Requirement Rules to Start Feb. 1 in Multiple States

Those who fail to fulfill the requirements stand to lose out on SNAP benefits.

New work requirements to gain or continue eligibility for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will start being implemented in several U.S. states beginning on Feb. 1.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump in July, instituted new work requirements for SNAP beneficiaries, targeting able-bodied adults without dependents.
