Naval Station Great Lakes confirmed on Friday morning that it has been placed on lockdown before a person was taken into custody.
“Vehicle and driver located. Driver is in custody and being questioned. The area is being swept by military working dogs. Several buildings have been evacuated. Base is still on lockdown,” the base said in an update at around 11 a.m. ET.
