Police officers in Pennsylvania are hunting for a mother who is accused of instructing her young children to inject her with heroin.
Police have issued a warrant for mother Leanne Abbott, 25, and charged her with endangering the welfare of children, along with recklessly endangering another person, and corruption of minors.
“I got to be honest with you—I really didn’t think that we would have to tell a mother that it’s no good to have their 4- and 5-year-old children use a syringe to inject heroin into her arm,” Police Chief John Otto said.
The two boys are already in foster care.
They were overheard saying they put a needle into their mother’s arm multiple times.
The conversation prompted an investigation that led to the warrant and charges.
The kids referred to the drug as “bad stuff.”
“The statements that these young men made were very descriptive; they were very detailed,” Otto said. “They were statements that, in our opinion, 5- and 7-year-old boys would not be able to produce unless, in fact, the statements were true.”
