Minnesota Senate Working Group Fails to Reach Consensus on Gun Control Bills

Democratic senators hoped to put together a bipartisan package of gun control measures for a special session Gov. Tim Walz said he would call.

The co-chair of the Minnesota Senate Gun Violence Prevention Working Group was hoping to build consensus on a package of proposed gun laws for an anticipated special legislative session.

However, after the group’s second meeting on Aug. 17, Democratic Sen. Ron Latz said it appears there is little consensus on most of the gun control legislation that was proposed.
