Child care providers who received federal funds in Minnesota will have to prove that they are actively caring for children.

Minnesota’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) announced the new tracking system on March 18 after day care centers run by Somali residents in the state became the epicenter of alleged widespread fraud.
