LOS ANGELES—The Memorial Day travel crunch officially began May 28, with crowds flocking to Los Angeles International Airport and motorists hitting the roadways for holiday getaways—many of which have been long-delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

LAX officials warned that terminals will be busy.
