MONTICELLO, N.Y.—With his dedication and passion, Mike Taylor is keeping Holiday Mountain open in Monticello, New York. He saved the ski mountain, which is more than 60 years old, from being turned into a housing development and is making major improvements.

Taylor, 57, a lifelong resident of Monticello, grew up skiing at Holiday Mountain. He went on to be a ski patroller, a paramedic, and the successful owner of Combined Energy Services and All Gas Welding Supply, a regional propane, compressed gas, and heating oil company.
