A Maryland woman was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison and a lifetime of supervised release for her involvement in a plot to damage or destroy electrical facilities in the Baltimore region, according to a Sept. 25 statement from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Sarah Beth Clendaniel, a 36-year-old resident of Catonsville, “plotted to disable the power grid around the entire Baltimore region and cause harm to thousands of people in pursuit of a racially motivated violent extremist agenda,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said.
