A Maine church filed a motion in the Supreme Court on July 27, seeking to prevent Gov. Janet Mills from issuing new COVID-19 restrictions.

The plaintiff, Calvary Chapel of Bangor, alleges in the petition (pdf) that the governor “continued to impose discriminatory and unconstitutional restrictions on religious worship services,” and even though Mills suspended the restrictions, “Calvary Chapel ‘remains under a constant threat’ that the governor will reinstate her unconstitutional restrictions at any time.”
