ARCADIA, Calif.—At least five suspects with large bags ransacked a Macy’s store in Arcadia on Aug. 22 during a flash-mob robbery.

Officers responded to The Shops at Santa Anita Mall in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue around 1:10 p.m. on a report of multiple suspects stealing merchandise at the Macy’s, according to the Acardia Police Department.

Detectives determined that at least five suspects entered the Macy’s and swiped various boxed sets of perfume before running from the store and fleeing the scene in a black four-door sedan in an unknown direction.

The flash-mob robbery remains under investigation. Cell phone video posted on social media showed the suspects, with their faces and heads covered, grabbing merchandise and placing it into large bags—unimpeded by any store employees or security personnel—then leaving the store.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to contact the Arcadia Police Department at 626-574-5151 with case number 2303635. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 222-8477.
