Los Angeles County Reports Year’s First Death Due to West Nile Virus

LOS ANGELES—Health officials on Sept. 7 reported the county’s first death this year attributed to the West Nile virus.

The patient, who was not identified but lived in the San Fernando Valley, was hospitalized and died from West Nile-associated neuro-invasive disease, according to the county Department of Public Health.
