SANTA CLARITA, Calif.—At least five homes in the Skyline housing development in Santa Clarita were under evacuation orders Feb. 6 following a landslide that sent some backyard retaining walls tumbling down a hillside.

The landslide also damaged a road and sidewalk below the homes on Plume Way in the new housing development.

City inspectors were assessing the damage Monday, and at least five homes were yellow-tagged, allowing only limited access.

The landslide was reported Sunday. There were no reports of any injuries.

It was unclear when the residents would be able to return to their homes.
