LA County Unemployment Rate Increases to 7 Percent

LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 7 percent in January, up from a revised 6.8 percent in December 2021, according to figures released Friday by the state Employment Development Department (EDD).

The 7 percent was below the rate of 10.9 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic in January 2021.
