Iowa Republicans have selected former state Rep. Joe Mitchell as their nominee in the race for the state’s 2nd Congressional District.

Mitchell, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, won the GOP primary on June 2, defeating state Sen. Charlie McClintock. He will now face the winner of the Democratic primary, state Rep. Lindsay James.
