IRVINE, Calif.—Irvine police Dec. 23 appealed to the public for help identifying three people caught on surveillance video stealing about $16,000 in sunglasses from a shop at Irvine Spectrum Center.

The theft occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 6 as the Sunglass Hut, Irvine Police Department spokesman Kyle Oldoerp told City News Service.

“We pursued other investigative methods before sharing this on social media,” Mr. Oldoerp said, referring to Friday’s posts on X and Facebook. “At this time, there have not been any arrests.”

Three males can be seen on the video grabbing high-end sunglasses from displays and putting them into bags. They left the area in a gray BMW sedan, police said.

Anyone with information about the theft was asked to call Irvine police, or email [email protected].
