The wife of U.S. Rep. Jim Baird (R-Ind.) has passed away due to complications from injuries she sustained in a car accident earlier this year, the Indiana Republican’s office announced Sunday.

Danise Baird died after the accident, in which the congressman was also involved, according to a statement from his office.
