In Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s first written opinion since joining the Supreme Court, the court ruled against left-wing environmental activists who had demanded that federal regulators make public sensitive documents from its internal deliberations about changing the regulations for power plants’ cooling water intake systems.

The 7–2 ruling in U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service v. Sierra Club Inc. on March 4 was a win for the former Trump administration, which had argued last year in favor of reversing a decision by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
