The estranged husband of a missing mother was questioned by police several days after court documents revealed that she was afraid of him.

Police officers went to the Connecticut home of Jennifer Dulos’s estranged husband on May 31 to question Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, the Daily Mail reported.

Dulos was seen speaking to officers around 6 p.m. outside his mansion in Farmington. They then entered the house with Dulos and his partner, Michelle Traconis.

After about an hour, Dulos exited the house and departed in his car with Traconis.

New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said the case is still considered a missing persons investigation.

Sources told the Hartford Courant that police officers obtained a search warrant for the Farmington house and went back there early Saturday to search it.

The search came about a week after traces of blood were found in Jennifer Dulos’s home. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that it looked like the blood had been cleaned.

Divorce documents obtained by the Stamford Advocate showed that Dulos was afraid of her husband. The couple had five children together, all between the ages of 8 and 13, during their 14 years of marriage.

Dulos said that her husband was upset that she was filing for divorce.

“I am afraid of my husband,” reads an affidavit tied to an order of custody filed in June 2017. “I know that filing for divorce and filing this motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way.”

She said that Fotis Dulos had exhibited “irrational, unsafe, bullying, threatening, and controlling behavior.”

The document added, “I am afraid for my safety and the physical safety and emotional well-being of our minor children.”

Fotis Dulos said what his wife claimed was not true and said she was not fit to be the children’s caretaker, alleging that she had lost the children on multiple occasions. However, Jennifer Dulos said that her husband had told her he would kidnap the children and flee to his native home of Greece with them, adding, “You will never find us.”

She said that she bought a gun because of her fear of her husband. Fotis Dulos wrote that he turned the gun over to the police.

According to NBC, the mother of Jennifer Dulos filed a complaint in 2018 alleging her son-in-law borrowed $1.5 million from her and her late husband and had only paid back $500,000.

Gloria Farber, 85, the mother, filed a motion this week requesting financial records for the Fore Group, Fotis Dulos’s company.

Fotis Dulos had submitted a filing trying to regain custody of the five children, who he alleged were taken to New York City to live with Farber by their nanny after the disappearance of their mother.

Farber has an armed guard keeping watch at her apartment, Dulos claimed.

Jennifer Dulos, 50, went missing on May 24. She was last seen driving a 2017 black Chevrolet Suburban in New Canaan. The vehicle was found later that day.
