Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse Will Not Seek Reelection

Newhouse is the one of the last remaining Republican members of the House who voted to impeach Trump in 2021.

Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.), will not seek reelection to the body in 2026, he announced on Dec. 17.

In a statement published on social media, Newhouse said he is stepping down “with confidence that there are now qualified and serious people expressing interest in this office.”
