LOS ANGELES—A top aide to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon sued the Azusa Police Department Jan. 6, alleging officers violated his civil rights “with evil motive and intent” when they arrested him for allegedly being drunk in public.

Joseph Iniguez, 36, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after officers pulled over a Tesla driven by his fiance just before midnight on Dec. 11.
