Gan Jing World, a digital platform based in New York dedicated to providing a safe and positive online space for families, has announced the launch of its 2025 Gan Jing Campus Summer Camp.

The online camp, which runs for eight weeks until Sept. 30, is now open to children ages 4 to 16, according to an online Gan Jing World announcement.

Its weekly themed online educational activities aim to blend character education with hands-on learning and creative exploration, the announcement said.

“Kids will share their creations and viewing reflections through videos, shorts, articles, and themed posts,” it said.

The online camp is accessible to children around the world, with parental or teacher supervision encouraged. For a $1 monthly subscription for two months, and then $6.99 per month, families gain access to a wide range of summer camp-themed movies, animated series, and daily activities.

“Every week features a new educational entertainment theme, and every day brings a fresh learning and viewing experience,” Gan Jing World said.

During the online camp, children are encouraged to share their creations and connect with others through the hashtag #GanJingSummerCamp. Participating children are encouraged to complete at least two activities and share their work online each week.

Weekly Themes and Activities

Each week, a list of curated movies and animated series that focus on that week’s theme is included, along with at least two viewing activities, which encourage outdoor or hands-on activities.
Here is a brief overview of what participants can expect:
  • Week 1: My Outdoor Moments

The first week includes a list of over 20 curated movies and animated series, centered around outdoors, sports, travel, and viewing activities. It also includes “My Camping Time,” which encourages participants to pitch a tent and stargaze, among other activities. Children are encouraged to explore nature with activities like hiking, picnics, camping, and treasure hunts.
  • Week 2: Space & Science

This week includes a mix of fun and educational shows for kids curious about nature, space, and the mysteries of the ocean. Some featured titles include “Archie & Zoey’s Cool Facts: Emperor Penguins” and “Shark School: The World of Whales.” Kids dive into science and the universe through hands-on experiments, constellation art, and animal research. Activities include making clay models of molecules, learning about ancient civilizations, and discovering marine life.
  • Week 3: Art & Music Journey

This week celebrates creativity with sketching, musical performances, sing-alongs, and composing rhythms. Children explore traditional instruments and reflect on their favorite artists. The weekly watch list includes sing-alongs like in “Baby Heidi”, a “humorous introduction to classical music” in the Mozart Band, and the inspirational film “Hope Dances”.
  • Week 4: Legends of History

Campers learn about legendary figures and world history by creating comics or models based on ancient stories and imagining life as a young scholar in the past. The watchlist includes films about historical figures such as Queen Elizabeth II, Margaret Thatcher, and King George VI, with role-playing and writing or drawing activities.
  • Week 5: Kindness & Character

The focus is on empathy, gratitude, and character-building. Activities to choose from include secret acts of kindness, making gratitude jars, designing hero posters, conducting empathy interviews, and creating compliment trees. Kids can select from a selection of curated films, including “Every Boy Needs a Hero” and “Kindness Matters”, and activities encouraging kids to become a “secret kindness agent” and do three kind deeds in secret, like leaving a nice note or helping others.
  • Week 6: Reading Adventure

Children immerse themselves in the world of books by acting out scenes, designing book covers, keeping reading journals, and remixing classic stories. Participants are encouraged to write a review of their favorite book, and among its watchlist are film adaptations of some great books, such as “Animal Farm” and “Gulliver’s Travels”.
  • Week 7: Little Naturalist

This week encourages environmental discovery through nature scavenger hunts, animal observation, planting seeds, and making eco-friendly pledges. Participants are encouraged to keep a nature diary and record what they see each day. Films on the watchlist include “World of Oceans” and “Back to Eden”.
  • Week 8: Let’s DIY Together

The camp concludes with hands-on DIY projects, such as upcycling recyclables, crafting botanical bookmarks, building terrariums, making kites, and exploring origami. The week’s watchlist includes series such as “Nicole’s Attic” and “DIY Cardboard Crafts”.

Awards and Recognition

Gan Jing World will select 10 “summer camp action stars” to encourage participation based on the creativity, quality, and engagement of the shared content. Winners, which will be announced on Oct. 31, will receive a digital certificate and a one-year free Gan Jing Campus Premium Channel membership, which provides access to all children’s films and courses on Gan Jing Kids.

Family and Educator Involvement

The camp is designed to be flexible. Parents and teachers can mix and match viewing and activity tasks to suit each child’s interests and learning style, according to their announcement. Free resources and guides are provided to help adults support children throughout the summer camp journey.
