WATTS, Calif.—A 43-year-old man was arrested for allegedly pursuing a sexual relationship with an underage female student at a Watts high school where he once worked as a dean, and police June 15 urged other potential victims to come forward.

Roger Scott was arrested and booked last Thursday on suspicion of contacting a minor with knowledge and intent to commit specific sexual offenses, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). His bail was set at $25,000, which he posted the same day, according to jail records.

Detectives received a report from a female student alleging that Scott continuously sent her inappropriate text messages and emails and attempted to pursue her for sexual intercourse over two years, police said.

According to the department, Scott was a dean at a high school in the 9700 block of Holmes Avenue. That school appears to be College Bridge Academy’s Watts campus. It is a charter school with four locations.

Scott’s employment was terminated in November 2022, police said, but it was unclear that was due to the sexual misconduct allegations.

Police released a public image of Scott and believe that there are potential additional victims who have not come forward. Anyone with information or victims who may want to come forward can contact LAPD Southeast Area detectives at 213-972-7851. Tipsters who choose to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
