A flight bound for Chicago from Taiwan was hit with massive turbulence, which left three passengers and eight crew members injured on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
The EVA Airways flight BR56 departed Taoyuan International Airport at 8:18 p.m. on Wednesday local time and was hit by turbulence one hour into the flight while flying over Fukuoka, Japan, and at an altitude of 31,000 feet, according to a statement by the Aviation Safety Council on Nov. 24.
