FAA to Keep Flight Reductions at Newark in Place Through October 2026

The Federal Aviation Administration said it will raise the hourly limit for landings and takeoffs at Newark airport to 72 per hour.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Sept. 25 that it would extend flight reductions at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey until October 2026 to address operational difficulties.

Previously, the FAA imposed a cap on arrivals and departures at Newark Airport until June 25, 2025, after multiple air traffic controller equipment outages led to flight disruptions.
