The Department of Transportation (DOT) on Feb. 10 unveiled a proposal to increase the percentage of U.S.-made components and materials in federally funded electric vehicle (EV) charging stations from 55 percent to as much as 100 percent.

The proposal seeks to modify a 2023 Biden-era waiver of “Buy America” requirements for federally funded EV charging stations by increasing the amount of domestic components.
