The index may only find support after the Trump administration reveals some good news such as tax cuts or deregulation, according to ING Bank.

The U.S. dollar index registered a large decline on April 3, following the Trump administration’s announcement of a new slate of global tariffs.

On Thursday, the index broke through the 103 level and hit a low of 101.26, which is the lowest in six months. As of 2:45 p.m. EDT, the index was at 102.06, down 1.55 percent for the day. Thursday’s fall follows the prior days’ decline in the index.
