The FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday said they have indicated eight Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operatives who allegedly engaged in a plot to intimidate or coerce dissidents around the world, including in the United States.

“With today’s charges, we have turned [China’s] Operation Fox Hunt on its head. The hunters became the hunted, the pursuers, the pursued,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers said, asserting that the CCP’s Operation Fox Hunt is merely a plot to target critics and opponents of the regime. The regime has said that Operation Fox Hunt is a worldwide anti-corruption campaign to track down fugitives.
