A customer went behind the counter at a McDonald’s restaurant in Norwich, Conn., and slapped a pregnant manager in the face, because her McChicken sandwich didn’t have lettuce and mayonnaise.
However, the McChicken sandwich didn’t meet the customer’s expectation. According to a witness who spoke to police, Hanson entered the restaurant and said “her food was made wrong.”
The narrative report also stated the patrol officer checked with the 29-week pregnant victim who said she was not feeling well.
The police said the victim was taken to the William W. Backus Hospital by American Ambulance for an examination.
“I observed several of her nails broken and one bleeding. She stated they broke as she was defending herself when Hanson came at her behind the counter,” said the patrol officer.
The victim told the patrol officer that before Hanson came behind the counter, coworkers told her that she was pregnant.
“After we were separated, she told me she had the bail money and didn’t care I was pregnant. She hoped I lost my child,” Victim told the patrol officer as per the narrative report.
Hanson told the police that the manager was laughing at her the whole time, and Hanson admitted she threw her money in the manager’s face.
“I stepped behind the counter, at first to make my own sandwich. The manager stepped to me and we were face to face,” Hanson told the patrol officer.
She was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault on a pregnant person and was later released on a bond of $5000.
The case hearing is scheduled for June 13 in Norwich Superior Court.
In a similar incident, a California woman was sentenced to 18 days in prison and 15 days of community service for assaulting a McDonald’s manager for not receiving enough ketchup with her order.
Gallo has been asked to enroll in an anger management class and was put on three years of informal probation.
She ordered food through the drive-thru lane of the restaurant at about 11 p.m. However, she was unhappy with her order and confronted the 22-year-old manager through the back door that was accidentally left open by another employee, according to police.
“She didn’t get her ketchup or enough ketchup so she takes it on herself to go through the employee entrance and confronts the manager and the manager says, ‘Hey, you have to go outside,’” Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna told NBC.
When asked to go outside, Gallo became physically combative and allegedly “pushed and choked” the manager who reportedly suffered from pain in her elbow, back, and neck and a 4-inch scrape on her back.
“The suspect, clad in a pink shirt and gray sweatpants, choked the employee until a man—later determined to be her boyfriend or husband—walked into the restaurant, ‘intervenes and takes the (suspect) out of there,’” Bertagna said.
The incident was recorded by security cameras from different angles. The video shows Gallo pushed, punched, and choked one of the employees as another employee tried to stop Gallo.
