The couple captured on video punching the owner of a Georgia fast food stand and her daughter have pleaded guilty to the crime.
On June 22 the couple complained about their order of chicken from Quik Chik being cold and that the portion of fries given was too small. Owner Jeanette Norris said they were rowdy and she called the police.
“She went berserk. They both lost it, him and her both, started cussing and beating on the window,” said Norris to WGCL.
When she came outside to tell them the police had been called, 28-year-old Latasha Denise Smith ran up and started punching. Norris’s nose was broken in the attack.
Norris’s 15-year-old daughter stepped outside a car to intervene and was punched in the head by 45-year-old Nathaniel Eric Smith, causing her to fall over. A surveillance camera recorded the attack and the footage was circulated on local media and went viral. The police received numerous calls of leads.
The couple surrendered to police on July 5. Due to the media coverage of the incident, the trial was moved to a different county for fear of a biased jury.
