Cough Syrup Recalled Nationwide Due to Microbial Contamination

Some of the symptoms of the foodborne illness caused by the contamination are stomach cramps and diarrhea.

Medtech Products Inc. is voluntarily recalling five lots of Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup due to the presence of bacterial contamination, according to a Food and Drug Administration notice published on June 17, 2025.

The product was recalled due to the presence of Bacillus cereus and a loss of shelf-stability. Bacillus cereus can cause foodborne illnesses, said the notice, warning consumers who have purchased the product to immediately stop using it and contact their health care provider if they experience any issues related to the product’s usage.
