Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and National Security Advisor Susan Rice has said that corporations that have “taken a knee to Trump” will face consequences if the Democrats retake power.
Rice, who served as the country’s ambassador to the U.N. during the Obama administration from January 2009 to July 2013, criticized companies that worked with the Trump administration, saying that “their perceived very narrow self-interest” won’t last in the long run.
“I think they’re now starting to realize, wait a minute, you know, this is not popular,” Rice said.
“Trump is not popular. What he is doing, whether on the economy and affordability or on immigration, now is not popular, and that there is likely to be a swing in the other direction, and they are going to be caught with more than their pants down.”
Rice said there would be “an accountability agenda” if Democrats regained power.
“You know, companies already are starting to hear they better preserve their documents,” Rice said.
“They better be ready for subpoenas. If they’ve done something wrong, they'll be held accountable, and if they haven’t broken the law, good for them if they’ve done the right things, good for them. That also will be noted and remembered.
“This is not going to be an instance of, you know, forgive and forget,” she said, alleging damages that are “too severe to the American people and to our national interest.”
Rice and Bharara did not name any particular companies.
“You got to win the midterms,” Trump told the House GOP caucus during a speech at the Trump-Kennedy Center on Jan. 6.
“They’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) shared familiar fears in December 2025.
Democratic lawmakers such as Reps. Al Green (D-Texas) and Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) previously confirmed their intention to impeach Trump.
