With few exceptions, Texas will outlaw abortions on Aug. 25 when the state’s trigger law goes into effect.

The U.S. Supreme Court issued its official judgment July 26 in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the case that overturned Roe v. Wade. The judgment clears the way for Texas’ “trigger law,” which bans almost all abortions within 30 days.
