City Forced to Pay Medical Bill For Suspect Who Shot Police Officer

The City Council of Omaha, Nebraska, was forced by state law to vote funds for medical care for a gang member who allegedly shot a police officer during a traffic stop.

“I’m sure there’s going to be a number of council members who will hold their nose and vote for it,” said City Council President Ben Gray told the Omaha World-Herald. “I’m going to be one of them. We’re obligated to do it.”
