The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Thursday that it has not been able to identify a “clear source” of exposure in Missouri’s first human avian influenza case.

A Missouri resident tested positive last week for bird flu despite having no known contact with an infected animal, marking the first case of this kind, according to public health officials.
