CDC Orders Quarantine for 2 Passengers From Hantavirus-Hit Cruise Ship

Acting CDC Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya issued orders for two of the 18 American cruise ship passengers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on May 19 confirmed that it is directing Americans who were recently on a cruise ship where a hantavirus outbreak took place to remain in a quarantine facility for an additional period.

The CDC said in a statement that it asked 18 Americans who were flown from the MV Hondius to a quarantine facility in Omaha, Nebraska to remain at the facility through May 31.
