California Lifts Truck Weight Restrictions in Bid to Ease LA Port Supply Chain

California will allow trucks to temporarily carry slightly heavier loads in its ongoing effort to ease the supply chain congestion at the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports, the governor announced Nov. 17.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s directive will allow trucks to weigh 88,000 pounds, which is an increase of 8,000 pounds, until June 30, 2022.
