The Buena Park Police Department released photos Sept. 2 of suspects and a vehicle believed to have been involved in the July 9 Knott’s Berry Farm drive-by shooting, as well as another similar-style shooting off Adams Way less than two weeks prior.

The department’s investigation has identified a male Hispanic in his late teens to early twenties to be behind the shootings, described as having a shaved head and a teardrop tattoo on his face, the department’s release said.

Photos show the man wearing a dark-colored Detroit Tigers baseball hat, with a dark-colored T-shirt featuring a large unknown graphic on it.

Two to three other individuals can be seen with the main suspect in the photos. Although Buena Park police did not single them out in their description, they are still suspects.

Additionally, the vehicle is described as a black two-door sedan that resembles a Honda Accord, with two different types of chrome rims in the front and back.

The main individual captured in the photos is believed to have shot two teenage boys during a “drive-by” from the vehicle outside the front area of Knott’s Berry Farm on July 9 at approximately 8:27 p.m., an event that caused amusement park goers to run in panic at the sound of gunshots.

At least one of the teens was shot multiple times, although it was not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Police added that while conducting the investigation, they learned that the same vehicle was involved in another drive-by shooting in Buena Park less than two weeks prior, where on June 28, Buena Park Police responded to the 7700 block of Adams Way. After arriving, they determined that unknown suspects fired multiple gunshots from the vehicle into an inhabited dwelling, although no one was hit.

Now close to two months later, the department has yet to find the suspect or the vehicle involved, and it remains unclear the motive behind either of the shootings as investigations into both incidents are ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or any of the suspects involved in the shootings is asked to contact the Buena Park Police Department at their anonymous tip line at 714-562-3847.
