Last week, law enforcement in Missouri received more support from the state government. Multiple provisions were signed into law by Gov. Mike Parson, including three bills that offer more protections for officers, people harmed from defunding of police departments, and an annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Senate Bill 53 (pdf) increases the penalty of doxing law enforcement officers, judges, commissioners, prosecuting attorneys, or their families. This is now considered a class E felony when bodily harm and death threats are intended with the release of personal information.
