Armed Services Committee Debates FY2022 NDAA, Approving a Near $25 Billion Increase

The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) is debating the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)—a broad defense spending bill that authorizes funding levels for the U.S. military—for which members offered hundreds of amendments.

Ranking Member Rep. Mike Rogers’s (R-Ala.) amendment, to increase the Biden administration’s NDAA budget request of $744 billion for the Pentagon and Energy Department defense programs by close to $25 billion, was adopted by the committee members with bipartisan support.
