A woman from Arkansas was arrested in late September on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamines, after the police officer who pulled her over noticed not just her expired car registration, but a curious hair bow she was sporting.
After Looney ordered Kropp to step out of the car, he noticed what appeared to be a bag of meth atop her head, appearing like a hair accessory.
According to the affidavit cited by Baxter Bulletin, Looney said: “As I was detaining Jessica Kropp, I observed what appeared to be a bow in her hair. The bow appeared to be a small, zip-locked bag containing a white crystal-like substance of suspected methamphetamine.
“The baggie had a small rubber band around the middle, giving it a bow shape and was attached to a bobby pin. The substance was affixed to the right side of her head, attached to her hair.
“I said ‘Are you serious?’ She said ‘What?’ I said, ‘You have a bow in your hair made from a bag of meth. She said, ’[expletive], I didn’t know that was there, someone else put that there and I didn’t know what it was.'”
It wouldn’t be the only incriminating discovery made that evening. Looney asked Kropp whether she had other illegal items in her vehicle, and when Kropp “begged” him to not tow her vehicle away, he gave her that guarantee on the condition that she would be honest with him.
Kropp showed the officer her purse. Inside the purse, Looney found multiple bags of meth and drug paraphernalia, which included vape pens—one held THC oil, and another held THC oil and meth. Looney told Kropp that because she was cooperative, he would charge her with just one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office website, Kropp has seven charges under her name, including possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, no liability insurance, and driving on a suspended drivers license.
Her bond was set at $22,530.
