Angel Mom Mary Ann Mendoza has criticized actress Alyssa Milano for emphasizing the plight of children separated at the border while seeming to remain silent on the plight of U.S. citizens victimized by illegal immigrants or minors trafficked across the border.

Mary Ann Mendoza spoke to Breitbart, saying, “The amount of children who are being trafficked is of no concern of hers.”
In a video shared on Twitter on July 27, the actress broke down on camera after watching footage of a child at the U.S.-Mexico border being reunited with the adult she came to the country with.

“I just watched this video of a baby being reunited with her mom,” a sobbing Milano said. “What the [expletive] are we doing? We are destroying lives. We are destroying children’s lives because of [expletive] arbitrary lines in the sand.”

“We can’t let this be the new normal. Besides what this country was founded on—this is not innately who we are as human beings,” Milano continued. “We’ve gotta take inventory of this, of what’s happening, and the humanitarian crisis at the border. We gotta do something. We can’t ignore what’s happening. We can’t allow it to continue.”

But Mendoza argues that the bigger problem—not addressed by Milano in her tearful video—is children victimized by human traffickers.

“The percentage of trafficked children is so much higher than those separated,” Mendoza told Breitbart. “Thank goodness our Border Patrol men and women are aware of this and are helping those children whom Alyssa has never mentioned.”

Mendoza, whose 32-year-old police officer son Brandon Mendoza was killed by a drunk illegal alien in 2014, also said Milano has never spoken out in sympathy with U.S.-born children victimized by illegal immigration.

“You can’t be concerned for a handful being separated for a short time as things are sorted out and not be concerned for the sexually abused, recycled children flooding our borders arriving with men and women with ill intentions,” Mendoza said, according to the report. “Alyssa is a hypocrite and is doing this to further incite hate towards our president. If she is truly concerned about the children, fight for the American children being raped by illegal aliens in our country. Put your boots on and leave your home and go work at the borders with our Border Patrol agents for a week.”

“She’s too cowardly and is a fool thinking her voice matters when she won’t step up,” Mendoza added.

Trump Vows to Help Angel Mom Banned From Twitter

Ever since her son’s tragic death, Mendoza has been outspoken about the issue of illegal alien crime in the United States.
Mendoza has built up large followings on Twitter and Facebook to get her message out about securing the border.

But on July 18, she received a notice from Twitter that her account had been suspended for violating the rules against “hateful content.”

Mendoza appealed twice, but Twitter said her account will only be reinstated if she removes six posts they deem offensive.

One reads: “@SpeakerPelosi Americans are torn apart every hour by ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS. EVERY HOUR.”

Another reads: “Meanwhile, 4,300+ Americans are KILLED EVERY YEAR by ILLEGAL ALIENS in the US. What do you have to say about that NEVER AGAIN?”

Another reads: “@RepJoeKennedy Heaven forbid one of those unvetted fighting aged men gets released and harms or kills someone you love … I know firsthand what ONE ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINAL can do to devastate a family. Look my son in the eye and tell him YOU’RE SORRY for contributing to his death.”

Mendoza said she finds the sudden suspension odd, “because this is the way I’ve been talking ever since I joined Twitter” in October 2015.

“It’s disgusting,” Mendoza said, adding that she sees a double-standard on what’s allowed and what’s deemed inappropriate when talking about illegal aliens and the border crisis.

“Anybody can say anything they want about how terrible our president is, and how there’s concentration camps, and how racist people are who are against illegal immigration,” she said. “But when you bring up an innocent American’s life and you fight to bring awareness to what’s happening, only to be shut down and basically slapped across the face—what’s right about that? There’s nothing right about that.”

Trump Steps In

President Donald Trump lent his voice to the issue on July 21 with a Twitter post supporting Mendoza.

“I will help Angel Mom (and great woman) Mary Ann Mendoza with Twitter,” Trump wrote. “I know Mary Ann from the beginning, and she should never be silenced. She is a winner who has lost so much, her child. Twitter, if you’re watching, please do what you have to do, NOW!”

Mendoza said she was shocked to see his post, wondering if it was real. She said she’s not sure how much impact he can have, “because he’s the biggest conservative they try and block.”

“But it does my heart good to know that he fights as hard for me as I fight for him,” she said.
