NEWMAN, Calif.—On the first day of 2019, a group of New California movement activists wore yellow vests and joined together to urge President Donald Trump to take proper actions to end the state’s sanctuary policy.

The gathering was held following the death of Newman city police officer Corporal Ronil Singh, who was shot by an illegal immigrant the day after Christmas during a traffic stop.
