Officers have “neutralized” a gun-wielding person at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the city’s police department reported on X around 4 p.m. ET, or 1 p.m. local time.

That message was posted about an hour after police originally informed people about the incident and warned them to stay away from the center in the 7000 block of Eckstrom Avenue in the city’s Clairemont neighborhood.
