More than 650 volunteers collected 1,375 pounds of trash at Lake Tahoe on the day after the Fourth of July.

According to the League to Save Lake Tahoe, also known as “Keep Tahoe Blue,” an environmental nonprofit that organizes the “Keep Tahoe Red, White & Blue” cleanup event, volunteers picked up 25 percent less litter than last year and 97 percent less than in 2023. This is the 12th year of the cleanup event.
