Three U.S. military members, two of whom were stationed at Fort Hood, were among nine men arrested in a child sex trafficking sting in Texas, police announced on Monday.
The Killeen Police Department announced that its Special Victims Unit, together with the Texas Department of Public Safety Human Trafficking Program, had carried out a 2-day child prostitution sting to “locate and arrest subjects who were willing to make overt efforts to pay minors to engage in sexual acts.”
The nine men who were arrested had “contacted officers through various social media platforms and made agreements for sexual acts with girls they believed were 15 or 16 years of age.”
The men had agreed to pay up via money, drugs, or alcohol. They were arrested “without incident when they arrived at a predetermined location,” the Killeen Police Department announced.
“The operation concluded with seven felony prostitution charges, two misdemeanor prostitution charges, and two guns were confiscated,” the department added.
Others charged with felony prostitution under 18 include: Javier Angel Perez Coyotl, 40, of Austin; Brian Harley Flynn, 21, of Temple; Brandon Anthony Lee, 25, of Killeen; Dustin Edward Johnson, 42, of Lott; and Shaun Paul Moore, 39, of Kempner. The last man, Rakeem Jamal Nelson, 28, of Killeen, was charged with class A prostitution.
