NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.—A woman was killed and another person seriously injured Tuesday during a robbery and shooting near the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
Initial reports from police indicated a mid-afternoon robbery at the shopping mall led to one of the suspects opening fire, seriously injuring one victim, an official said.
